When you’re a mum, you might experience all of these stressors, and more, on a daily basis. Whether you have a dirty house, a hefty daycare bill, or trouble balancing work life and home life, being a mom can come with many worries attached.

When you’re raising a family, keeping stress at bay can be difficult in the fast-paced, hectic lifestyle that comes with the joy of having kids. However, when you’re stressed out, that anxiety can rub off on your moods, emotions, and decisions – and can even rub off on your family.

If you’re tense after your long workday, your kids can sense that, too. It may start affecting your relationship with your spouse, or you might see your performance at work slipping. Stress isn’t something that’s just felt internally – it’s felt and seen by those around you as well. The Centres for Disease Control Prevention (CDC) states that nearly 85 percent of all diseases may have an emotional element, which can include stress.

It’s important to take steps to improve your mental health so that your daily life, work, and relationships aren’t negatively affected by your anxiety or reactions to stressors. When you feel that your stress is taking control of your life, that’s when you need to take the steps to take control it.

Emotional Freedom Therapy (EFT) offers a unique offering of alternative therapies, including acupuncture, “tapping,” and positive affirmations. Through acupuncture therapies, pressure points inside your body where energy is stored can reduce anxiety and produce positive thoughts. Positive affirmations are another way to refocus positive energy and get your mindset out of its negative cycle. By repeating and thinking positive affirmations throughout the day, you’re setting yourself up for a better, happier day – and ultimately, happier lifestyle.

I brought my son aged 7 to see Lauren to help him settle and go to sleep at night. After seeing her not only does he find it easier to fall asleep at a reasonable hour, he has now calmed down a great deal. - ER

For over a year my 12 year-old daughter suffered from stomach pain caused by acute anxiety. It was constant day and night, prevented her from sleeping or woke her from sleep as well as impeding her everyday life. Traditional medical examination and treatment proved there was nothing physically wrong but also gave no cure. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) did not help very much either.

After a year of suffering acutely we returned to the GP who referred her to Lauren. After six sessions of EFT my daughter was pain-free. We went to Lauren with reservations as to whether it could help at all but there is no doubt in our mind that EFT was the answer to the pain she was feeling. - RW
